The large part of the team were almost entirely engaged in Sd.Kfz.223 4.Serie chassis of TWC (The Wheatcroft Collection). The wheel stations are the current focus. A donor vehicle was stripped this week to provide key components for the wheel stations such as splined wheel couplings, bearing hubs and other items. These together with other components have been washed and are currently being blasted in preparation for priming. Most of the wishbone related components have been painted in the black grey top coat finish.
The Absperrhahn stop cock taps are now in hand. All the taps bar one are now complete. The first article on these taps is in this week’s Inside Track and will be followed with another next week showing everything on these devices.
The two Marmon Herrington transfer cases arrived from Australia this week. They are both in good condition and will resolve the missing transfer case in the earlier SARC Marmon Herrington Mk III.
The Assembly/machining centre is being cleared to make way for the new piece of kit which arrives next week. A very exciting moment for the machinists here in the team!
