Breakthrough this week on the archive regarding the paint treatment of our 2 SARC Marmon Herrington armoured cars. This has taken weeks to get to this point. We now know conclusively what colours and pattern these vehicles were painted in. More work needs to be done on the scientific paint analysis to fine tune the paint itself that we will be using.
The fuel tap system in particular the stop cock tap for the German armoured cars. We have secured one of these and will be looking to produce 2 more for our armoured car project. The brake cables for the 3 armoured cars has had to be reordered given the construction ‘wind’ of the cable effectively made it 1mm wider in diameter. The fuel hand primer pump for the Sd.Kfz. 261 has also been resolved. The semophores for the 4 Serie Sd.Kfz 222 are in hand as are those for the 5 Serie Sd.Kfz 261. Only one is required for the Sd.Kfz.223 3 Serie. Almost there…More dashboard items for the Sd.Kfz 261 5 Serie have been secured as have gas mask holders for the 4 Serie Sd.Kfz 222. An original handbrake for the Sd.Kfz.261 5 Serie has just arrived.
Jagdpanther – we gathered more information together this week regarding the provenance of our 2nd Jagpanther. Components for our other Jagdpanther projects have also been drawn in this week – key items of provenance.
We are in the midst of securing an industrial sized lathe to allow us to do any of the lathe work normally done externally. This is a huge development as the oversized projects are not many in number but always tend to be rather expensive.
We have been focussing on our social media profile – Facebook in particular and have made some headway. All of you who have been invited to like us – LIKE US!!
