Planning for the next steps for the Sd.Kfz.222 4.Serie such as the Schutzschild turret including the turret floor, turret ring and armoured panels are all under way. We have written up the first phase of research into the radio rack which holds both the Fusprech a and its Umformer. This Part 1 is published in today’s Inside Track. All continued research and results for the radio rack required for our Sd.Kfz.222 4.Serie will be published as we progress.
The spare wheel carrier and fittings are underway. The lead image shows the 3 required wheel studs half way through the machining process. The research also will be published in due course given how non simplistic the design and construction is. The fenders have now been completed save for the right rear fender supports.
The bumper and turret ring supports are the focus for next week. We will be making the first proof of the rear turret supports (Konsol) next week. The reason is the research for these multi dimensional items is now largely in place and can only be progressed as the item is built and tested in situ.
