The Jagdpanther drawings are now complete to allow for the reassembly of original panels and the insertion of new panels where required. The drawings will be sent for quotes for the steel panels soon. Latitudinal and longitudinal floor cross members have also to be quoted for from the drawings. The assembly of the Jagdpanther hull will start as soon as we have all of the necessary panels cut and machined and when the existing front and side sections have been disassembled and cleared of rust and weld. We aim to create a large flat pack assembly model as we did with our first Jagdpanther.
Our drawing and research team have started today on the drawings of each panel of the 3 Serie SdKfz 223 Ausf A. These drawings will then be gathered together as a wireframe – a 3D representation of the reassembled vehicle to ensure all the angles of the vehicle’s superstructure are correct. The team’s focus will then shift to the SdKfz 222 Ausf A 4 Serie where the same process will commence.
The Renault FT internal turret detail of the optic retainer devices for the Hotchkiss M1914 are nearing completion. This should be in hand by next Tuesday. The fabrication and engineering team will move to the SdKfz 261. The chassis is in 2 halves and has to be put in a jig and completely overhauled to create one true reliable workable chassis ‘ ready to run’.
