The wiring for the Sd.Kfz.222 is complete for the rear lights, the Winker semaphores, the hooter, front headlamps (not mounted). The dashboard is for next week. The dashboard mounted lamp has work to be done on the arm prior to connecting up.
The front nose mounted stowage bin has been recovered. It was totally crushed. This is now mounted in its final home – on the nose. The bin fitted to the left side of the vehicle is in position with its bump stop bar working in conjunction with the rubber bump stop on the large side mounted bin (see main image). The safety strip along the back of the Schutzschild turret is now in position. This has been correctly and is a credit to the tea.
Another group of radio strap coupling ends have arrived. These had been held up for a while. We are now sorting out which individual end fittings are required for each of the radio sets in our le.Pz.Sp.Wg. armoured car projects.
Parts have arrived within a shipment for the Sd.Kfz.250 – wheel spacer and all importantly an original Sd.Kfz.250 steering wheel complete with all of the gears for the left right indicator. We will be publishing an article covering the detail of this piece in our journal Inside Track. More goodies are on the way….
