Vehicle maintenance efforts post members Open Day 2023 is involving additional attention to the carburettors on the right engine bank of Jagdpanther 411. This will be sorted in due course. Idling is perfect. The 1 ton Zugmaschine (Demag) is receiving attention on the vacuum pre-select gear change system.
The base of the firewall of the Weald Foundation’s Sd.Kfz.223 is being fabricated. This will be followed by the floor supports and floor. The planning of how the MG pedestal mount will be fitted has started this week. The TWC Sd.Kfz.223 will continue with the front fenders.
We had a large group visit on Thursday by Maidstone and Tonbridge DWP and JobCentrePlus teams. This is the first of a number of visits. The educational itinerary today revolved around our WW1 tank the Renault FT. A documentary has been produced on behalf of the Heritage Lottery Fund which was shown to the attendees, followed by talks and a drive around within one of the Foundation’s vehicles. The Renault FT drove out to the appreciative crowd. This happy and contented group left later in the afternoon.
