The machining for the antenna frame junctures with the antenna supports are now complete. This is not the last task required for the antenna frame assembly but is quite fiddly given the relative size of these components.
The second only such example of tap handle we have ever found arrived today. This is destined for the Sd.Kfz.223 3.Serie. Our search will continue until we located another of these small tap handles. This last example is required for the Sd.Kfz.261 5.Serie.
The driver seat bases for the Sd.Kfz.223 of the Foundation and the TWC Sd.Kfz.223 have been completed. The seat frames are currently in focus. Once they have both been recovered back to a good working condition we will focus on the next stage upholstery of the seat and back. The wood pattern for this is being done and will be taken to a specialist not far from us here at the Foundation’s workshops. The Schutzschild turret support guide rollers are also underway. A full set has already been prepared for the TWC example – these are to be seen in the lead image within the antenna hoist components. These components simply need welding together and assembly to be complete.
We have secured some very rare items for the Sd.Kfz.222. Rather late but components such as these cannot be ignored and will make the finished item even more compelling. We will let you know in due course once we are able to photograph these items in detail.
