At the Weald Foundation we welcome the opportunity to pass on lessons learned through our research and activities to the general public. In this regard we hosted yet another enthusiastic group of people, courtesy of the HLF and the DWP on the attention to detail in the research and restoration process – with special focus on the Renault TSF in this phase. The first viewing of our HLF funded documentary on the Renault TSF resulted in a flurry of questions after the showing.
Elsewhere during the week we completed the radio rack for the Sd.Kfz.223 3.Serie and have made major inroads in identifying the correct radio set up for our Sd.Kfz.223 3.Serie at the time on completion of assembly. Watch Inside Track for more information in this regard.
A first of a kind exercise for us to assess our current restoration project against an approved standard was conducted this week. This was done using our Sd.Kfz.223 3.Serie as the proverbial guinea pig. We will, from this point onwards, adopt this process as we near the completion for every project. A very useful exercise for posterity.
The drivers’ seat frames for the Sd.Kfz.223 3.Serie and the TWC Sd.Kfz.223 have now been fully refurbished and will be send to our cabinet maker specialist for the seat back and base frames next week. You will have noted the images of the seat back patterns made to aid the process in our Social Media posts.
Have a good weekend.
