The very important fitting of the interior frame antenna hoist mechanism and shaft was realised. We were extremely fortunate that the device fitted well after a little fettling. We are awaiting the worm and wheel gears to enable the device to work with the use of a hand crank. The shafts for the antenna mount have been machined and cut to size. These will need to be primed to ensure the finishing coat is a constant colour overall.
The Schutzschild (turret) grenade mesh sides are currently being fitted to the turret. These have been copied from sections of an original example. These are being fitted to the original hinges and clamps inside the Schutzschild turret. Once this is completed the team will return to the other items on the Open Item List for the Sd.Kfz.223. The width indicators are now fitted to the front fenders. These will have to be removed when the fenders are blasted and primed.
A few very interesting original parts were delivered this week. These are for the Kettenkrad and the Sd.Kfz.250. We continue to assemble parts for future projects and to improve on the earliest restorations. The Sd.Kfz.223 parts we are waiting for have yet to be collected.
