Really exciting few days here as the exterior of the Sd.Kfz.223 3.Serie was painted in Dunkelgrau. This is the front armoured section of the armoured car and will be the first part of the superstructure to be fitted. This is planned for Monday afternoon if the weather is good. The worm and wheel gears are now back with us and ready to be fitted into the antenna frame hoist mechanism.
The main part of the loom for the TWC Sd.Kfz.223 Ausf.A is now complete and packed away until the body is removed for blasting and priming. The Gurtkasten MG34 ammunition holder frames are also on the way. The leather internals require cutting and riveting in place.
The Horch 3.5 litre V8 is being assembled. The valves have been fitted. We are gathering the best 4 cylinder head combinations that we have which retain their original paint. These will match the block which has already been painted this week in the SEM established matching paint.
