Last minute fittings took place this week. Only later in the week was the Sd.Kfz.223 3.Serie armoured car able to drive out for the very first time.
Fitting and wiring the batteries in their purpose built cases of the batteries as fitted in 1939. The batteries were wired in to their respective places within the loom.
The MG 34 top cover was fitted allowing the DT34 Doppeltrommel double drum magazine to be fitted as it was in 1939. The rubber lined antenna frame was fitted on to the antenna frame posts and the hoist gear mechanism tested – success. Allowing the raising and lowering of the antenna frame at will.
Attention to all the areas missing paint – the all famous ‘dobbying’ took place together with the fabrication of the number plates for the rear and the painting of the example onto the front nose armour. The rear licence plate illumination lights were fitted to their correct stands and tested.
