Merry Christmas. Compliments of the Season to Everyone!!!
Drawings for the reassembly of the second Jagdpanther hull have started. We are studying all the original drawings in our archive. Discussions on where detail is missing or incorrect are ongoing. The chassis sides are the main point of attention. Given that we have the restored Jagdpanther and the large sections of the second Jagdpanther in pieces around the Weald Foundation premises the detailing will not be as challenging as it was originally.
The Zundapp KS750 is moving ahead slowly. Key components are still awaited for the steering forks which cannot be assembled until they arrive. More parts have been secured to be exchanged with newly made equivalents. The exhaust muffler and assembly have been painted and are ready for assembly.
The Renault FT Hotchkiss M1914 ammunition drum has been completed and primed awaiting the other components which have yet to be fabricated and machined. The remaining fittings for the Hotchkiss M1914 inside the turret – the optic retainers, the stub protector for the optic and the complete assembly of fittings for the MG have now been drawn. These will machined from solid or fabricated depending on their original construction finish. The problem is there are no surviving parts to copy only a single schematic and one blueprint. We are in good shape however as have the drum and the fittings for it. The outstanding items fit on the Hotchkiss M1914 which we have used as the master.
Very little will be achieved next week.
Wishing everyone a wonderful and joyful Christmas.
