Following up on last week’s work, our progress with the Sd.Kfz.223 3.Serie remains steady and productive.
A milestone was reached with the Panzeraufbau mesh for the TWC Sd.Kfz.223. Fabrication and assembly of the final bits is complete and received a red oxide dressing. We’ve promptly set in its place, and it fits perfectly.
Our Sd.Kfz.223 3.Serie’s original Panzeraufbau mesh, after its rejuvenation in the electrolysis bath, emerged clean and free from decades of rust. After receiving a protective layer of red oxide, we fitted it and confirmed – it looks amazing on the Sd.Kfz.223 3.Serie.
Our new apprentice has been busy this week, removing old paint from the Sd.Kfz.223 original engine block, laying a clean slate for the upcoming essential engine rebuild. He has also shown commendable skill and dedication, successfully working on the width indicators, completing the necessary repairs and they now await installation.
The MG34 pedestal mount received a lot of attention. The Schutzschild turret had to be put in position, providing us a glimpse of the completed vehicle, and allowed us to correctly assembly fit key parts for the pedestal. We hope this will be completed next week and finally test the turret together with the mesh. Speaking of the Schutzschild turret, it too underwent critical repair work this week. Areas that had been compromised with cracks were effectively welded, ensuring its robustness.
Have a good weekend and stay with us for more updates!
