WW1 Project Nearing Completion
We completed the assembly of the Renault FT turret. This now awaits painting which should start next week. The foot pedals and associated rods under the floor have all been fitted. The gear gate rods connecting it to the gearbox are also all in place. Road wheel and return rollers are painted for the Renault FT. The Renault TSF wheels are being addressed now. The firewall has been painted white on the crew cabin side and green black on the engine bay side as per the originals. The throttle hub in the crew cabin situated to the left of the driver are installed together with the associated rods liking this to the carburettor in the engine bay. The brake hub and cable to the right of the driver are now being installed. The radiators are being fitted requiring the hoist and tackle with the spacers being made to position the radiators at the correct height.
Separately we are fine tuning the artwork for the schmierplan ( greasing plate) for the Ausf A Sd.Kfz. 222 and Sd.Kfz 223 and the Ausf.B Sd.Kfz 223.
Final artwork is in place for the Renault FT driver’s instruction panel and will be sent for acid etching.
We are completing the required forms for temporary export of the Renault FT and TSF to allow for the attendance at shows in Europe this year.
