This week we have powered on with the Renault FT gearbox. All gear selectors are in place. Bottom shaft and reverse gear are in. The main clutch thrust has been done. The main input drive shaft has been sent for re-machining – this requires grinding.
The upper Renault TSF turret, under the cupola, was completely dismantled. sand blasted and is now being assembled onto the block house (the larger turret component).
Several key instruments were located for the Sd.Kfz 222 and 223 armoured car projects. We have also located the vital tools we have been looking for for a long time for the Renault FT and Renault TSF.
We received good news on Thursday that an original toolbox for the Renault FT has been found in France. A new replica has been made.
