This week was a race to complete vital research for the floor of the Sd.Kfz.222 4.Serie armoured car – moving from the rear firewall area to the centre of the crew cabin. Keeping ahead of the fabrication team with the constant objective of absolute accuracy – succeeded. The team is coming in on Saturday to finish the front area of the floor around the driver – foot pedals etc.
Installation of the voltage regulator (Reglerschalter) and dynamo (Lichtmaschine) into their correct positions on either side of the gearbox at the rear of the crew cabin. These have been trial fitted and will need removing to be fully serviced.
The engine for the Sd.Kfz.222 4.Serie is progressing well. Assembly is set for next week. Every tiny detail has been fully attended to to ensure there will be no issues in running the armoured car once it is fitted for the final time.
The Haas VF 6 vertical machine centre is now fully operational.
