Focus this week was on the turret fittings for the Sd.Kfz.222 4.Serie both internal and external. The mesh has arrived. This was made to our exact specifications for the firewall area in front of the radiator and another type to be fitted in within the grenade nets.
The fuel tanks for this Ausf.A armoured car will be completed next Friday. The driver’s leather seat has already started. The wooden frames forming the base of the seat bottom and back have been made and now await the upholstery filling and leather finish. Leather gaiters for the various controls within the driver’s area will be fitted individually now that the metal clamp gaskets are now ready to sandwich the leather in place.
The extremely rare antenna base for the Sd.Kfz.222 4.Serie has been repaired (main image), blasted and primed. The attachment for the speaker has also received the similar attention requiring a repair to the loudspeaker retainer spring.
All of the internal grille mesh sections have been formed for the grille positioned under the rear of the Schutzschild turret at the rear of the crew cabin.
