Work on the Sd.Kfz.222 4 Serie hull focussed on the fabrication and fitting of the rain guards for the front and side visors. The semaphore guards were also completed and fitted together with the support bracket for the semaphores themselves. Additional small items for the visors are being readied for fitting. The attention from here on will shift to the interior of the Sd.Kfz.222 interior. This is quite the challenge as ours is the only survivor. This quest is being covered in Inside Track as we make each incremental discovery.
Work on the Sd.Kfz.223 3 Serie engine has now officially started. The fitting for the fixing of the starter motor and the positioning of the dip stick are under way. We sourced a number of new cylinder heads this week which now completes the total required for this 3.5 litre Horch V8.
The newly arrived rear fighting compartment wall of the Jagdpanther has been examined this week. This arrived at the weekend and will be added to the large group of parts now ready for assembly in the second Jagdpanther project for us. A fuel tank arrived at the same juncture and will also be added to this list.
