The many small and laborious details within the interior of the Sd.Kfz.222 are being taken care of. Only one more week is needed for the work to be fully complete. This week saw the near completion of the plaques prior to acid etching that are fitted on the instrument panel of this and the other le.Pz.Sp.Wg. Sd.Kfz.223 3.Serie and Sd.Kfz.261 5.Serie in line to be completed.
Spare windscreen holder fitting well under way. Radio rack in place on the turret ring. Water canteen strap and holder fitted. Quite specific for the 4.Serie as with the gas mask holder. This added knowledge will assist greatly for the Sd.Kfz.261. Working out how the 20mm magazine boxes are kept in place – the strapping and clips.
Work experience by one aspiring would be restorer completed after a 2 week period. He was involved in may aspects of our day to day activity. The last was the fitting of many internal components within the Sd.Kfz.222.
Fabricating the first correct 3 kg Sprengpatron case for fitting in our original and the other authentic reproduction cases on the rear fenders of the Sd.Kfz.222, Sd.Kfz.223 and Sd.Kfz.261. This is the first proof copy which will be perfected prior to us starting on all of the others. See lead image
