The co ax MG 34 mount is now fully reassembled having been blasted, repaired where necessary, primed and painted. This complex device is soon to be added to the Sockel Pedestal Mount assembly once this is fully ready for assembly. The Sockel pedestal itself will require a fair amount of work with the base and Sockel requiring machining to ensure smooth reassembly.
The Sd.Kfz.222 4.Serie turret (Schutzschild) ring is at last with us. This will be fitted to the original armoured panels of the turret and turret floor when these have been reassembled. The turret guides have yet to be started other than a good 3D printed representation of one of them. Remember the ring is upside down!
The floor of the Sd.Kfz.222 4.Serie and Sd.Kfz.223 3.Serie have now been fully scoped up to the base of the Sockel mount of both vehicles. This part will be completed when both the Sockel pedestal mount for the KwK 38 and the Lafette MG mount of the Sd.Kfz.223 are in place.
Many more key parts have been located this week for the armoured car projects. We are still awaiting delivery of other key items for later projects but are now missing nothing for the completion of the Sd.Kfz.222 4.Serie and her unveiling at the Open Day on 18th June 2022.
