The dashboard for the Sd.Kfz.222 4.Serie and the upgraded Sd.Kfz.223 3.Serie is currently the focus. This is a very complicated structure and each instrument fitted to the panel has to be the exact item as used in WW2 to fit. These instruments are not easily sourced and present quite the challenge to locate. There have been 3 separate instrument panels machined out of wood – each being analysed and improved as the fittings are tested. The final steps are some way off once the detail has been mastered.
The Sockel pedestal mount for the KwK 38 has been test fitted to the chassis of the Sd.Kfz.222 4.Serie in readiness for the next stage of assembly. This will be removed to allow full assembly of the cradle co-ax mount and the myriad of other parts.
The rear fenders together with their steps have been fully rivetted. They will now be blasted and primed.
