We are awaiting an alternative gasket material for the Sd.Kfz.222 4.Serie V8 engine. The first examples we used were not satisfactory. The engine is now waiting for the gaskets before we are able to take her on her maiden run.
The reconstruction of the air filters continues. 3 of these will be brought back to life for the 3 Ausf.A le.Pz.Sp.Wg . Sd.Kfz 222 4 Serie, Sd.Kfz 223 3 Serie, Sd.Kfz. 223 4 Serie. This is quite a laborious process which will continue through next week.
The Entstörung suppression systems for the Sd.Kfz 222 4 Serie, Sd.Kfz 223 3 Serie, Sd.Kfz. 223 4 Serie are currently being researched. Our findings thus far for the Sd.Kfz 222 4 Serie and have been posted in this week’s Inside Track. The next target to tackle will be the Entstörung suppression details for the Sd.Kfz.223 3.Serie. This is rather complicated given the lighter amount of surviving archive data. All of our results here will follow and be published in Inside Track.
We are planning the strip down of one of our two spare Jagdpanther gearboxes with the aim of recording each gear that is missing in the other gearbox. These gears can then be made and the gearbox completed thereafter. This will take time as these gearboxes are notoriously difficult to disassemble. The gearboxes have been recovered from our stores and are now awaiting attention next week.
