The machining for the Querlenker wishbones of the Sd.Kfz.261 5.Serie are progressing well. The 2 new examples made to original specification based on the 2 originals already in hand should be completed next week. Thereafter the metal rubber bushes will be fitted awaiting the axle pins.
The Sd.Kfz.223 3.Serie project is deep in detail. All of the team with the exception of the person machining the Querlenker are involved in attending to – the 30W Sender case, Torn E.b, fabricating and preparing all of the small parts to be fitted in the armoured car. Another team member is taking care of the Horch 3.5 litre V8 assembly. The 3D orders for various components are also being kicked off.
We are waiting for good news on an acquisition which will make a good addition to the collection. This week’s Inside Track articles cover the paint identity of Dunkelgrau and a start on the oddities of the various Horch 3.5 litre V8 engine detail.
