Our work on the Sd.Kfz 223 Ausf.A armoured hull is progressing well. The armoured panels have now all been reassembled and the smaller detail is being addressed where tabs have been lost externally and internally. These tabs with 6mm or 8mm threaded holes in the centre have have cleared of broken bolts and where necessary replaced with new. An inventory continues of which hinges we have versus requirements and we are awaiting delivery of recently machined hinges back from our counterpart.
The doors within the collection have been gathered together and are being analysed for grouping into their respective Series. This analysis is being covered within our online magazine Inside Track. We are identifying the correct doors within each Serie form 1 to 5 to be fitted to our Sd.Kfz 223 3 Serie, Sd.Kfz 222 4 Serie and Sd.Kfz 261 5 Serie.
The work on our Zundapp KS750 carburettor and magneto is nearly complete. These items will be refitted to the motorcycle combination in due course ready for a test drive!
The Sd.Kfz 261 chassis is now back from being dipped and coated. We will examine the results next week once we have removed the protective wrapping.
