The long awaited part of the project is upon us where we recover the original Sd.Kfz.223 3.Serie mesh is underway. This is painstaking work given the condition the mesh was in when it arrived here. Slowly but surely it is recovering in the hands of the team. This week’s Inside Track provides a lot of detail behind the process and progress images.
The MG34 pedestal mount for the Sd.Kfz.223 3.Serie is also moving forward. The base has now been completed and we are organising the accurate CLR Centre Line Radius is followed for the pedestal mount. We have a number of enquiries outstanding with pipe bending specialists and should be resolved next week.
The rear hooks have now been fitted to the Sd.Kfz.223 3.Serie. One had to be crafted to provide an exact match of the original which was recovered from a 3.Serie wreck in Russia years ago. The work was very successful – see lead image.
Infrastructure work to clear foliage from roofs, drainage and remedy leaks in water mains has been completed. We are currently exploring the possibility of switching the PV solar panels when financing allows.
