Our team has grown this week. More volunteers including an aspiring candidate apprentice doing work experience. The Sd.Kfz.223 3.Serie has been the focus this week with the fenders receiving attention to the corroded areas where small holes were visible after sandblasting. These have been addressed and the fenders primed. The fenders will now be rivetted to the frames.
Special attention to the frame antenna mounts. The rear left and right antenna bases which are mounted to the Aufbau body are almost completed. The front two examples are underway. These are made of thin sheet steel material and have not done very well over the years since WWII.
The original cast aluminium spare windscreen for the Sd.Kfz.222 4.Serie continues to receive attention. The end result will I am sure look spectacular when completed.
A delivery this week for the Sd.Kfz.250. This is the armoured exhaust cowling fitted to the exterior of the engine bay side exterior. There remain a few items which we will continue to gather over time in preparation for these two unique provenance halftracks.
Our trustee Hilary Doyle is presenting at Arsenalen the Swedish Tank Museum this weekend on the Tiger II. The last presentation he gave earlier on the Tiger II was very well received. We wish him all the luck on Saturday.
