The chassis for the 3 Serie Sd.Kfz 223 is now assembled. The gearbox and related stays are now installed (see attached image). All that remains is for the engine and radiator once ready to be installed once they have been restored. The special metal rubber bushes have now arrived for fitting to the shock absorber link arms on both the Sd.Kfz 222 and 223. Planning for the drehsockel MG mount for the Sd.Kfz 223 is well underway. The original parts we have will be pressed into action in the assembly of this very rare MG mount.
The gearbox for the Sd.Kfz 222 is now in focus. This is being disassembled taking special focus of the paint treatment of the item. The gearbox has multiple layers of paint. The original layers are well below the surface and will require many hours of painstaking work to remove the paint layer by layer to arrive at the required original paint.
Work continues on the Jagdpanther in preparation for transportation to Netherlands for Militracks in May. We will shortly begin the servicing and preparation work to ready the Jagdpanther for the show. Special note will be provided to the steering system and carburettors. Tweaking the steering system and cleaning the carburettors.
