The air filters for the Sd.Kfz.223 3.Serie, Sd.Kfz.222 4.Serie, Sd.Kfz.223 4.Serie continue. The mesh is now in hand for the fabrication of the filter cartridges required for each completed air filter. The doors for the Sd.Kfz.222 4.Serie have blasted and primed and are being fitted with their door fittings – handle locking bar, hinges, bread bag hanger etc. Near brass bushes are being machined for the door handle operation to replace the corroded originals. The visors are being fully fitted on the Sd.Kfz.223 3.Serie. These are the fittings on the visors and those required for the visor but fitted to the body around the visor opening.
The new correct carburettor air inlet trumpet 3D printed and fitted. Next step in aluminium!
Research on the Pak 43 continues. Much time has been invested in identifying the fittings we have and those we require to complete the project.
The new exhibition hall interior is nearing completion. The work should conclude next week when painting starts.
We attended an auction last weekend and secured a very rare externally complete Pak 43 bin. For the first research results into this bin please see this week’s Inside Track article on the subject.
