Fitting the front and rear drive shafts of the Sd.Kfz.223 4 Serie is now complete. The gearbox mounts have been fitted. The steel and rubber anti vibration mount for the gearbox was missing one side. A new example is being faithfully reproduced to make up the shortfall. There are two stays missing for the gearbox which will also have to be remedied in due course. The gearbox has been installed – the missing anti vibration mount and the stays will be back fitted when ready. The differential has also been fitted and the rear engine mount is next. The rims and rings and tyres for the armoured car were returned today fully fitted. They will be fitted to the chassis behind them next week.
Research into the correct fuel pumps has concluded. We have located a number of the correct pumps in our stores and have stripped and serviced one of these for the Horch 3.5 litre V8 of the Sd.Kfz.222 4 Serie.
More parts are being gathered for the Sd.Kfz.261 5 Serie. We still have a some time before the start of this particular project to gather any missing components.
The second original rear hook for the Sd.Kfz.250 arrived this week. Far further out in start date than the Sd.Kfz.261 but the opportunity to secure the required parts is taken at all times.
