The TWC 4 Serie Sd.Kfz.223 is progressing very well. The current focus is on the wheel stations. A number of parts are missing but those present are being disassembled, cleaned to be made ready for blasting next week. The foot pedals are now installed with the exception of the accelerator pedal which is being cast. The metal rubber bushes are ready to be notched early next week and then fitted to the pins for the wishbones. This will allow the next stage of the wheel stations to push forward. The differential and gearbox are due to be disassembled, cleaned and checked. Bearings will all be changed for new and the casings blasted and primed.
The conservation work on the 4 Serie Sd.Kfz.222 continues with attention falling on to the chassis frame. This work has stopped temporarily as the team centres on getting TWC chassis as far as it can go.
The work on the various taps for the Sd.Kfz.223 3 Serie, Sd.Kfz.222 4 Serie and Sd.Kfz.261 5 Serie is now drawing to a conclusion with the ablasshahn being machined. The spindles are being fitted together with the original nuts for fitting to the fuel lines. The full story with images will be in next week’s Inside Track.
Our new large Haas vertical machining centre has been secured and is on its way!
Have a good weekend and stay safe.
