This week in the workshop, we’ve reached several significant milestones in our Sd.Kfz.223 restoration project. A notable achievement was the fabrication and test fitting of the Funkwagen frame antenna for the Sd.Kfz.223, and antenna support pins placed, bringing it closer to its 1939 appearance.
We also made significant progress on the turret mesh, a particularly intricate task due to the challenging angles required for bending the bars. However, our team overcame this obstacle, ensuring the mesh remains secure during movement, with the original springs restored and fitted.
Another significant step forward was the collection of the engine block and crank, now en route for white metaling – a crucial process in their restoration. Concurrently, work on the clutch pressure plate has started.
One of our apprentices has impressively manufactured an electrical terminal box for the radios, showcasing the growing expertise within our team. Additionally, we continued our meticulous work on the plate visors.
Stay tuned for more updates on our Sd.Kfz.223 restoration and have a great weekend.
