This week saw the remarkable rescue of the Riemann headlamp bodies. Both were in bad condition but one of them was truly horrendous. Both have been rescued without filler! The team spent a few days on the 2 headlamps which has resulted in a fine pair of cases awaiting the lens retaining ring which has had to be spun here in the UK. The lenses are now ready and awaiting this next step in the project.
The frame antenna supports are now in place. Primed and awaiting the top coat. The plate visors are being attended to – all of the toggles, armoured glass inserts and rubber surrounds, windscreens etc are all underway. Exciting stuff as all of this has not been seen before.
More research breakthroughs this week will be unveiled in due course. This was in the field of the MG 34 kit within the Sd.Kfz.223 3.Serie and special fittings for the radio.
Have a good weekend everyone.
