A good week for the team. Both the left and right hand sides of the frontal armour section containing the left and right hand doors, have been grafted together from the original Sd.Kfz.261 5.Serie armour panels sections we had. These have been meticulously pieced together allowing for these 2 lower sections to reappear once more over 80 years later. You can see how much effort has gone into these plates from the heat colour distortion and the weld evidence (around the upper and lower door frame). The upper left and right hand sides which fit onto these lower panels have already been prepared and will be welded in place next week.
While this work has been progressing the machinists have been earnestly at work machining the spring seats for each suspension hub. We do have some originals but the shortfall has had to be machined to provide the missing examples.
