A last gasp attempt to complete a small number of tasks on the Sd.Kfz.222 4.Serie German armoured car are underway prior to driving the armoured car to its short term parking – next door. This will allow the team to cross between the two areas very easily to ensure the common detail between these armoured cars is at hand when required and provide the space for our Sd.Kfz.223 3.Serie to take her position where the Sd.Kfz.222 is now.
The tasks being completed are the Fire Extinguisher assembly, the Jack and brackets (complete), the Air Pump fixing points (complete), and tidying the wiring for the Sd.Kfz.222 4.Serie. Tidying up the internal paint work will also be required given that the supplier decided to use a different toner in the paint mix causing a colour disparity. We now have the correct colour once again and will touch up the interior as required.
We have moved the Australian LP1 (local pattern) Carrier up from storage into the Fabrication Hall. The TWC Sd.Kfz.223 radio armoured car has been moved to alongside the Sd.Kfz.222 4.Serie in readiness for focus by the team. We have spent quite some time scouting what needs to be done with the LP1. Auto Cad drawings are underway of the body to ensure we record all of the detail on our example together with some of the recordings from visits to Australian examples.
Have a good weekend!!
