A great deal of research has gone into what fuel to use for Jagdpanther 411 on the 17th of this month. The ethanol laced fuels used previously have caused havoc within the fuel tanks, fuel lines and the diaphragms within the fuel pumps in the past few years – with and without additives. We hope what we are working with now will be the most effective solution.
The new find for the Sd.Kfz.223 and Sd.Kfz.261 which we have sought for many years arrived thanks to a friend of ours in Europe. This device will be covered in a forthcoming Inside Track article in a week or so. The arrival of this part now opens the way for us to complete the Rahmenantenne Frame Antenna for the Sd.Kfz.223 and when required for the Sd.Kfz.261 5.Serie.
The TWC Sd.Kfz.223 project has made a substantial amount of progress this week. The rear Frame antenna supports have now been put in place. The original left hand example has been fully recovered. The base of it was in bad shape but has been brought back from the abyss using all of the original base plate and inserting new sections into the missing profiles. The spare wheel mounts have been machined and are in place, the rear fenders have been fitted and the anti slip strips have been rivetted in place on the fenders. What awaits now are the two front fenders which will be in hand once the Open Day is behind us.
